Have you bought any fried chicken lately? It's expensive.<BR/><BR/>On the other hand, it's no <I>secret</I> the the Colonel's recipe has been a very valuable and well-guarded recipe for many a decade. And in my mind, it may not be the recipe that is so special, but the combination of the recipe and the preparation that is the key.<BR/><BR/>KFC "broasts" their chicken in pressure cooker/fryers and my dad has remembrances of "Broasted" chicken operations in mom and pop stores up in the Mississippi Delta when he was traveling around with my grandfather back in the 1950's.
