After a long career actor Charlton Heston has passed away at the age of 84. He was known primarily for the many historical roles he played, his conservative views and support of NRA causes. Recent reports indicate he may have suffered from Alzheimer's.Heston won the Academy Award in 1959 for his portrayal of Judah Ben-Hur in the movie of the same name. He was also famous for his portrayal of Moses in the Ten Commandments. He is survived by his Wife of many years Lydia.
In recent years Heston stood out in the liberal world of Hollywood being a staunch conservative and President of the NRA. These stands often put him at odds with the Hollywood establishment and he quipped on one occasion it may have cost him film roles.
