When you "Assume" you make an Ass out of U and Me. Just ask Babs Boxer. She assumed a Black business leader was in lock-step with anything coming from the NAACP and came off looking like a Clown. As she did a few weeks back with General Michael Walsh, she embarrassed herself and ended up being a patronizing jerk.
Babs Boxer tried to pull her "some of my best friends are Black" bullshit on a "Black" man and got her ass handed to her. In her quest to invoke (at least a half a dozen times) the word "diversity" - one of the favorite catchphrases of the Liberals, she made a complete fool out herself.
While Harry Alford, who she was questioning, preferred to deal with scientific data, she tried shoving the NAACP's energy position down his throat by (dishonestly) citing their support on energy policies. Because Alford is a Black man, Babs assumed he was automatically in support of the NAACP position - which he was not. Mr Alford became agitated and accused her (rightfully so) of being condescending and racist. She was obviously lost once she was tripped off of her talking points and came off as a mumbling stumbling asshole. I consider this some small amount of payback for her disrespect of General Michael Walsh a few weeks back.
Let's hear it for Harry Alford! It's obvious Mr Alford isn't in awe of Babs because "she's a Senator and worked so hard to earn the title".
