ZZZZZ....Obama Too Tired To Be President?

Barack Obama 'too tired' to give proper welcome to Gordon Brown
Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president was facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told.

"Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest."

"British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister."

So President Obama is too tired to observe political protocol? Can you imagine the fallout if GWB, or any previous President had made a statement such as this? Apparently he's not too tired to make overtures to Vladamir Putin, Iran, or contemplate "reaching out to moderate Taliban".

The U.K. has been a close ally and partner with the U.S. for many many years. The tacky gift of twenty-five DVD's presented to Prime Minister Gordon Brown is an insult. I certainly think the British deserve a little more respect and recognition than this. After all, Obama just signed a bill giving away nearly a trillion-dollars of taxpayer money so one would think we/he can do a little better than a couple of hundred-dollars in videos.

Mr President, you have been on office for less than two months. Part of your job is to respect and treat our real allies around the world in a dignified manner. Now do it! Remember - you "won".
